Six Medicine Hat health-care facilities on outbreak list

MEDICINE HAT, AB – There are six health-care facilities in Medicine Hat currently on the Alberta Health Services outbreak list.

The Medicine Hat Regional Hospital says 16 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19, an increase of one since the last report.

Five patients have also tested positive.

South Country Village, which is a long-term-care facility, has an outbreak.

Chinook Village, River Ridge Seniors Village, Meadow Ridge Seniors Village and Masterpiece Southlands Meadows, which are all supportive living homes for seniors, are on the outbreak list as well.

Ralph’s Texas Bar & Steakhouse in Medicine Hat and Roy’s Wood Shop in Redcliff are also on the outbreak list.

Last week, COVID-19 outbreaks are being found across the city, including at a popular nightclub, continuing care centres and the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.

Also last week, the City of Medicine Hat announced a COVID campaign encouraging residents 20-40 years to get vaccinated.
