MEDICINE HAT, AB – After a recent intake of baby rabbits, the Medicine Hat SPCA is looking for help.

Shelter director Tom Carney says the overpopulation of rabbits across the city has overwhelmed the shelter. The SPCA, along with other facilities in the city, are at capacity.

Carney says they are currently looking for foster homes to help and are also in need of food donations for the rabbits.

“Lots of greens, kale, lettuce, parsley, carrot tops, carrots, that sort of thing,” Carney said.

Donations can be dropped off at the shetler, located at 55 Southwest Drive SW. The SPCA is open Monday to Friday from 12 to 6 p.m.
