Medicine Hat man killed by falling tree at Banff National Park

MEDICINE HAT, AB- A 61-year-old Medicine Hat man has died while camping at the Aylmer Canyon Campground, located in Banff National Park.

RCMP Cpl. Baker confirmed the man died from a falling tree.

The incident occurred just after midnight on Aug. 11.

The man was declared deceased at the scene. Foul play is not suspected in the man’s death, according to RCMP. It is also not known what made the tree fall.

RCMP said they will not be releasing the name of the man.
