Thursday evening at Stampede grounds

MLA hosting town hall to discuss how pandemic affected youth

Aug 4, 2021 | 10:31 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – In May the province struck a panel to study how youth have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A town hall on Thursday evening will give you the chance to give your thoughts directly to a local MLA and the panel co-chair.

Brooks-Medicine Hat MLA Michaela Glasgo is hosting Calgary-South East MLA Matt Jones at the Fireside Room at the Stampede grounds from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The aim of the panel is to understand the full scope of the psychological, social, educational, and physical impacts resulting from and related to the pandemic on youth.

It will speak with researchers, educators, healthcare professionals, mental health experts, and parents and children in Alberta.

Recommendations will be made to the provincial government this fall.

People are asked to RSVP for the Thursday town hall by calling Glasgo’s constituency office at 587-270-5110.

A telephone town hall will take place on Aug. 12.
