Vibrant, family-friendly colour run is back Sept. 11

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The seventh annual paint-filled Hues for Humanity colour run makes its way back to the city next month.

The event is put on by Canadian Humanitarian to support vulnerable youth in Central Africa.

One of the organizers, Veronica Yeoman, says it will bring the community together for a family-friendly experience.

“We are excited it’s brought into Medicine Hat this year as it’s been out at Echo Dale the last couple of years,” Yeoman said. “With help from the City of Medicine Hat, we were able to bring it to the teepee trails.”

The 2020 run was turned into a scavenger hunt due to pandemic restrictions. As the race is back this year and is moving more into the city, Badlands Training Centre is the proud sponsor.

Owner Pam DeMan says Badlands is about inclusion and bringing people together. She feels strongly about youth and family being active in Medicine Hat so sponsoring the run was an easy choice.

“We’re really excited to be a part of it, we are a new business and we want to show our support to the race and to the community,” DeMan said.

Early bird registration is on until Aug. 10. Two prize packs are available for those that sign up before that day.
