Special air quality statement issued for Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB– Wildfire smoke from the B.C wildfires has prompted a special air quality statement for Medicine Hat and the surrounding area.
Environment Canada says high air quality index ratings are likely to occur throughout the weekend in Southern Alberta. The air quality can vary at various parts of the day, Environment Canada said.
Increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches, and shortness of break may occur. Environment Canada says children, seniors, and people with cardiovascular or lung diseases are at most risk.
The special air quality statement is in effect for the following regions.
