City seeks input for parks and rec master plan

Jul 22, 2021 | 9:40 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The city is using an online survey and pop-up events to get input from Hatters on the update to the parks and recreation master plan.

Scott Richter, parks and recreation business and innovation manager, says the updated plan will guide the city’s decision-making and planning for short- and long-term projects.

The online survey will be available now until Aug. 5. Responses collected will be used to develop the final version of the master plan.

Pop-up events with information will be set up at the following locations:

  • Saturday, July 31
Strathcona Island Park from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Sunday, August 1
Kin Coulee Park from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Echo Dale Regional Park from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

More pop-up events are scheduled for later this summer to share the input collected from the community.
