IRVINE, AB – Students at Irvine School will get their hands dirty at a new interactive agriculture learning facility being built at the school.

At the Irvine School Agriculture Discovery Centre, students will learn about socially responsible, environmentally sound and financially viable farming practices. They will raise livestock, grow and sell produce, and grow a variety of demonstration crop plots.

Prairie Rose Public Schools has partnered with Neubauer Farms for the centre. They say the agriculture-based environment will better prepare the next generation to develop thriving societies, flourishing economies and healthy environments.

Nichole Neubauer says the centre “will serve as a catalyst to cultivate meaningful student connections to the land that sustains us all.”

The centre will also offer an outreach program to connect with urban students through an Adopt a Class initiative.
