Medicine Hat Ringette Association looking forward to consistent play this year

Jul 15, 2021 | 2:38 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – After a season of challenges, the Medicine Hat Ringette Association wants to get back to normal for the upcoming season.

Not able to play a regular schedule of games last season, the association focused on skill development. President Jay Pinnell says this year they want to focus on competition and teamwork.

“We are all looking forward to the 2021/2022 ringette season,” Pinnell says in a news release. “Putting on the equipment, consistent practices, team bonding events and tournaments are what we all want to get back to.”‘

With the season still a couple of months away, the association has announced two initiatives to attract people to the sport.

The Active Start Ringette program is for girls aged four to six years old. Certified Coaches will provide skating training and teach the game to the girls. The program costs $149 for 16 weeks.

To help cover the costs and entice people to play goal, Goalies Play Free will reimburse those who play two-thirds of the season in net.

Registration for the season is now open. For more information visit mhringette.com.
