New program in high schools for students to report crime and bullying

The initiative started from a student’s idea. They thought it would be an easy way to establish communication with school resource officers.

Sgt. Adam Gregory with the Medicine Hat police says this is a great thing to be implemented in the schools.

“It basically gives people a chance to either just provide information or to reach out and connect without having to go face to face right away if someone wants to connect but is unsure how,” Gregory said.

Students who don’t have cell phones can report crimes online and for those who prefer face-to-face, school resources officers work within schools and are there to help.
