Echo Dale opens Friday

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The familiar sights and sounds of summer are in the air when the lake at Echo Dale re-opens for the season on Friday morning.

Scott Richter, business and innovation manager with the city says the lake is currently being filled. The concession stand won’t be open this year, but he says food trucks will be invited.

Change rooms and washrooms will be open to the public and portable toilets will also be on-site.

Richter says current COVID-19 rules still apply but as stages change, the lake’s restrictions will relax.

“There’s still distance requirements, we like people to stick to their own household as much as possible,” Richter said. “Understanding that some of the guidance has changed and just to kind of keep awareness of what’s allowed at what times.”

Echo Dale will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
