M.D. of Taber firefighters tackle large weekend blaze

TABER, AB – Multiple responders from the M.D. of Taber Regional Fire Service tackled a large fire southwest of the town of Taber Saturday.

A call for all units to respond was put out at around 11:15 a.m. on May 15. The fire was burning out of control and moving toward some gas tanks, according to the M.D.

“The fire and the dark black smoke in close proximity to a shop and residential structure was clearly visible from a long distance,” stated the M.D. of Taber Regional Fire Service – Station 4 & 7 Taber/Barnwell on social media.

“The quick response by Station 4 & 7 units to protect adjacent structures and equipment isolated the fire and prevented further loss.”
