LPS officer suspended for allegedly mishandling evidence

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A member of the Lethbridge Police Service is under investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT).

According to LPS, information was received regarding the “potential mishandling of possible evidence by an LPS officer.”

LNN has attempted to reach out to both LPS and ASIRT to learn more about this matter.

Lethbridge Police has ordered an internal professional misconduct investigation under the Police Act and Police Service Regulation, which will be held in abeyance until ASIRT’s investigation is complete.
