Prairie Rose won’t pilot new curriculum

MEDICINE HAT, AB β Prairie Rose School Division has decided it will not be piloting the new K-6 draft curriculum this fall.
The district joins dozens of others across the province who have also opted out.
Prairie Rose made the decision on Wednesday during a public board meeting, where 18 members of the teacher review committee looked over the four core subject areas including math, language arts, social studies and science.
A press release from Prairie Rose says βthe committee did find some areas of strength in the proposed curriculum it was noted there were concerns that could not be overlooked.β
