Moisture situation improving
EDMONTON — The latest moisture situation update from Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, shows that much of southern Alberta has received near-normal precipitation in the two-week period ending on April 26.
Higher than normal amounts were received towards the mountains and foothills, but it’s the northeast region of the province where a long dry spell is continuing.
The northeast region has been under a below-normal precipitation pattern since late August last year.
But the report stresses that this time of year it’s normally quite dry, with moisture usually beginning in greater amounts near the end of May.
