Barnes encouraging the public to follow COVID-19 rules

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Community members joined Cypress-Medicine Hat MLA Drew Barnes for a town hall last night, and he says much of the talk concerned current public health restrictions.

He said attendees were vocal about COVID-19 measures and how the restrictions are affecting their mental, physical, spiritual and economic well-being.

The MLA says that he, the cabinet and the premier are asking everyone to follow the rules.

“I would say to them to adhere to the rules, to play by the rules,” Barnes said. “But if they have any concerns or any ideas, to immediately email or call me and I will advance every idea.”

Barnes is still pushing for regional openings but says we have to ensure hospital capacity is available for the current pandemic and for future situations.

He wouldn’t say whether or not he will get the vaccine, saying that is a personal decision.
