Local brewery announces COVID-19 case

Apr 27, 2021 | 11:36 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A local brewery and restaurant is informing the community that a staff member recently tested positive for COVID-19.

Medicine Hat Brewing Company announced the news on its Facebook page and says it was doing so with transparency and caution.

General manager Kaiden Vancuren responded right away when he got the news.

“It’s good to be transparent,” Vancuren said. “The community has supported us a lot over the years so we want to make sure we’re safe and do our part to help beat the COVID thing.”

As a result of this positive case, the taproom is closed effective today (April 27). The move will allow the team to get tested and do a deep clean.

“The health and safety of our employees and customers is of the highest importance and continues to be our top priority through these unprecedented times,” reads the Facebook post.

Medicine Hat Brewing Company says “we are confident in all our health and safety precautions, masking, sanitation, outdoor seating and always maintaining social distancing.”

Anyone with questions can contact the restaurant.
