Electronics, Peruvian cloth stolen from Esplanade

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Police are investigating a crime of opportunity at a city landmark.

On April 21 at about 11 p.m. two suspects entered the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre while a user group was at the facility. The suspects stole about $3,000 worth of items.

Police say a Peruvian cloth, electronics, transit passes and debit terminal were stolen. The cloth belongs to a private citizen and is not part of the Esplanade’s collection, says a spokesperson.

Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is asked to contact the MHPS at 403-529-8481 or tips may also be submitted (anonymously if preferred) thru the MHPS website (mhps.ca) or MHPS Mobile App. The app is free and available to download for both Apple and Android devices by searching ‘Medicine Hat Police Service’ on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
