MEDICINE HAT, AB – The driver of a vehicle that struck a cyclist on the Trans-Canada Highway in July 2019 was handed a 12-month conditional sentence and is prohibited from driving for two years.
Daniel Leger was charged in the hit and run that saw a cyclist struck by the vehicle’s side mirror. The cyclist suffered severe injuries after being hit by the vehicle, which did not stop at the scene.
Redcliff RCMP were able to trace a piece of the vehicle that was found at the accident scene back to Leger.
