MEDICINE HAT, AB – A year marked by flexibility, intuition and improvisation is coming to end for Medicine Hat College’s Art and Design program.

They’re taking those same principles into their big show, appropriately titled Freeform.

The graduates’ annual show has everything from painting, drawing and sculpture to video, animation, mixed-media and augmented reality.

The group has embraced the program’s focus on blending fine arts and design.

“Combining hands-on processes with digital techniques creates more opportunities and a greater depth of understanding, allowing graduates to apply a wider array of skills in the contemporary workspace and the ever-growing marketplace of art and design,” reads the show statement.

The exhibition will be presented as a virtual tour in first-person view.

It will open on April 9.

Art and Design was previously known as Visual Communications. This year’s class is the first under the new program name.
