MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat Public School Division has announced the appointment of two new principles.
Both say they have big plans for their new roles.
At Crescent Heights High School, Shonna Barth is being promoted from her current position as vice-principal.
Barth has been at Crescent Heights for the last eight years. She says she is excited and honoured for this new opportunity and is looking forward to the upcoming year.
“Really build community again around our school,” Barth said. “It’s been tricky this past year where we can’t get together for sports or activities. I really look forward to us becoming true Vikings together again.”
Across the city at Medicine Hat High School, what started as a temporary role has turned into a permanent one for Dean Brown.
Brown says he has big shoes to fill replacing Boris Grisonich, but he has a strong vision for the future.
“Student learning is at the forefront of everything we do,” Brown said. “The creativity and innovation part of the mission statement here and I want to continue that journey.”
Both new principals will start their new roles in the upcoming school year.
