Lethbridge man charged in “high-risk incident”

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have a local man behind bars following what they called a high-risk search warrant on the north side.

Officers were stationed outside a home on the 1900 block of 18 Ave North Friday afternoon.

Police seized several items including a machete, large knives, two replica handguns, and a quantity of oxycodone.

Member of the LPS Tactical Team provided assistance due to information received on the potential for weapons to be present.

Marty Franzen, 46, of Lethbridge, is charged with four counts of failing to comply with a release order and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
