Redcliff RCMP collecting input for policing priorities

Mar 11, 2021 | 1:46 PM

REDCLIFF, AB – Redcliff residents have a chance to have their say on what they feel is important regarding policing in the town.

It’s part of Redcliff RCMP’s policing priorities and goals for this year.

Staff Sgt Sean Maxwell put out the call on the Everything Redcliff Facebook page this week to collect recommendations.

As of Thursday, the post has over 140 comments plus several emails.

It’s an opportunity to let RCMP know what you may like to see in the community more, all responses will be read and are appreciated.

Staff Sgt Maxwell says it’s nice to see real-time comments from residents.

He is noticing patterns in regards to traffic, RCMP visibility, child safety, and school zones.

“Community interaction, a number of those things the pandemic has obviously caused some issues in terms of being able to interact with people and just get out there and do some things. But it’s definitely given me some ideas in terms of geography, particularly in the Town of Redcliff, where there are traffic issues, speeding, going through stop signs, issues with kids playing.”
