Offering stolen property for sale on-line leads to arrest of 3 men

MEDICINE HAT — Trying to sell stolen stereo equipment online led to the arrest of 3 Medicine Hat men by city police.

The owner of the stereo equipment alerted police after recognizing it in an on-line classified web site.
Officers recovered the stolen stereo equipment along with other stolen property and a shotgun, which two of the suspects were prohibited from owning as the result of previous criminal convictions.

As a result of this investigation Aaron Solheim, 28, Shaylon Witts, 33, and Cameron Beaudoin, 27, were arrested.

Solheim was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possess firearm contrary to order, trafficking in stolen property and possession of stolen property.

Beaudoin was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possess firearm contrary to order, breach of probation and breach of release order.

Witts was charged with trafficking in stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of proceeds of crime.
