Police receiving complaints about parking near schools
MEDICINE HAT, AB – City police are reminding people about parking laws near elementary and middle schools after receiving numerous complaints.
Police say they have increased patrols around schools and assigned parking monitors to enforce parking laws. Schools have also sent out reminders to parents and caregivers.
They say the most common infractions are parking near or blocking crosswalks, blocking driveways and parking near fire hydrants or parking where signs prohibit.
The safety of school children and volunteer crosswalk patrollers is our primary focus, says MHPS in a release.
