Multiple media outlets in Alberta are reporting a possible leadership review of Premier Jason Kenney and the UCP government has been discussed.

And one association had 80 percent of the board expressing dissatisfaction.

According to Cypress-Medicine Hat MLA Drew Barnes, a lot of UCP members and Albertans are expressing their desire for a focus on families and fiscal responsibility.

Barnes says COVID has made things tremendously tough on our private business, Albertans, employees, and health care workers.

And he is grateful we’re in a province where we can speak up and be part of the democratic process.

As for a possible review of our premier, Barnes says at this point and time, he’s going to let members speak and voice their opinions.

“There is a lot of talk going on, we’re into one full year of the pandemic and there are a lot of members who are coming forward and expressing ideas that will help Alberta. And I’m just glad we’re back Edmonton right now and we have the chance to talk more directly to premier Kenney and cabinet.”

In the legislature as part of the spring sitting, Barnes says members are getting the brief tonight on the politician recall legislation and also the citizen-initiated referendum.
