Swirls opens for the season

MEDICINE HAT, AB – You know the weather is getting warmer when Swirls opens up for the season.

The locally-owned ice cream shop started making sweet treats at 11 am on Friday (Mar.5).

General Manager Abby LaRochelle says they’re excited about the opening and its perfect weather to start off the season.

She says there are two lines to get your cone, the debit-only side, and the cash-only side.

The ATM is still available as well as Apple Pay.

LaRochelle says Swirls is a staple in Medicine Hat.

They were established in 1984 and they have a lot of generations coming in for ice cream.

“It’s basically all about tasting the happiness and the ice cream provides that for the people of Medicine Hat and I think it’s a good opportunity to come out, stand outside, get some fresh air, and have an experience with their families,” LaRochelle said.

Swirls hours are 11-9.
