COVID-19 Update: 573 new cases, 13 additional deaths

EDMONTON, AB- The province of Alberta confirmed 573 new cases and 13 additional deaths on Saturday.

10,894 tests were completed over the past 24 hours. The provincial positivity rate is 5. 3 per cent.

There are 9,727 active cases of COVID-19 province-wide.

Updated regional numbers for Medicine Hat were not made available. As of last update provided Friday, there are 32 active cases of COVID-19 in the city, 479 recoveries and 12 deaths.

In Cypress County, there is one active case, 143 recoveries and zero deaths.

The County of Forty Mile has one active case, 114 recoveries and two deaths.

The Municipal District of Taber has eight active cases, 314 recoveries and six deaths.

In Newell County there is one active case, 143 recoveries and two deaths.

The City of Brooks has six active cases 1,3242 recoveries and 14 deaths.

Province-wide there are 676 people in hospital and 114 people in intensive care.
