Police probing possible connection between classic car thefts

MEDICINE HAT, AB – City police have been hearing from the owners of classic vehicles in Medicine Hat after the theft of two classic cars in the city this month.

In both cases, the vehicles were taken as part of a break and enter.

Insp. Brent Secondiak says investigators are looking at a possible connection between the theft of a 1971 Dodge Challenger and that of a 1973 Pontiac Firebird in early December.

He says these kinds of crimes are unusual for this city, and owners of similar vehicles are concerned for their own property.

Secondiak says owners of classic vehicles are a select group and are aware of the possible sales of these kinds of vehicles.

He remains hopeful the victim of the most recent theft will get the vehicle back.
