MEDICINE HAT, AB – A 1973 Pontiac Trans Am reported stolen on the weekend has been recovered by police, along with other stolen items such as power tools and ATV tires.

Medicine Hat Police Service says one man has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 following the investigation by ALERT Regional Property Crime Unit and city police.

A search warrant was executed in the 100 block of 19th Street NE on Monday.

Police also seized an illegally possessed bolt action shotgun and ammunition, and say the tools and ATV tires recovered are suspected to have been stolen during recent break and enters at Medicine Hat and Redcliff businesses.

In addition to the stolen property charge, Randy Yaholnitsky, 32, of Medicine Hat, is charged with firearms offences and breaching firearms prohibitions. He is currently awaiting a bail hearing.
