Local foundation hosting free virtual Christmas party

Dec 7, 2020 | 1:36 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB– A local charity is making sure everyone can have some Christmas fun this year, even at a social distance. CARO, or Canadians Reaching Out to the World’s Children Foundation, is hosting a virtual Christmas Party this Sunday Dec.13 at 4 p.m.

“This online Christmas party was a great idea we came up with to replace some of those missed staff Christmas parties, or church Christmas parties or whatever they might be. It’s an opportunity for families to come together, celebrate Christmas, have some music, some games, a visit with Santa, and some of those Christmas party type events” said CARO president Brock Hale.

The event will take place on Zoom and those interested in attending can register on Eventbrite, and a link will be sent by email to the event.

The virtual Christmas party is free to attend but donations are being accepted to help with some of CARO’s initiatives.

Canadians Reaching Out to the World’s Children Foundation has been in the city for nearly 20 years, according to Hale.

The organization is currently helping to provide a pizza lunch to students at St Louis school once a month.

They also provide support to an orphanage for children ages 0-3 in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

More information about CARO can be found on their Facebook page.
