Coulee Ridge

Phase one of new subdivision breaks ground

MEDICINE HAT, AB – An upscale neighbourhood billed as the city’s first lakefront, coulee view sub-division broke ground this afternoon.

Coulee Ridge’s phase one has already more than half of its lots with the neighbourhood taking shape with a dozen new homes expected to start being built between now and March. An additional 10 are anticipated to be ready for the Parade of Homes by next fall.

Don Sandford, CEO of Enclave which is developing the site, says the uniqueness of the neighbourhood with views of the Saamis Tepee to the east, prairie sunsets to the west and overlooking Cottonwood Coulee Golf Course is something buyers warmed to and quickly.

“That was a buyer looking for something they couldn’t get in Medicine Hat at the time until they actually had a vision of it provided to them and that was Coulee Ridge,” said Sandford. “We found that there are people that are stepping out that weren’t contemplating buying a home until they saw what we had to offer.”

Sandford says it was touch and go as to whether Enclave was going to move forward as the pandemic grew to encompass Canada in the spring but sales of lots in the sub-division appear to be unaffected by COVID-19 and are exactly where they were anticipated to be.

Homes in the neighbourhood range from $450,000 to $2 million.
