Cypress County offering to help residents though grocery delivery program

Nov 30, 2020 | 5:12 PM

DUNMORE, AB- For people who are immunocompromised, taking a trip to the store during a pandemic can prove risky to their own health.

To help those who are in need of getting groceries, Cypress County is lending a helping hand.

Go for Groceries is a program that allows residents to have their groceries delivered.

The program was created early on in the pandemic as a way to help.

“ We developed the program to basically allow the residents to pre-purchase and pre-order their groceries and then they would contact Cypress County and Municipal Services staff and myself would then pick up the groceries and deliver them to anywhere in Cypress County,” said Director of Municipal Services Jeffrey Dowling.

Thus far, no one has applied to use the program.

Residents can register on the County’s website.

The program is only applicable at stores that offer online shopping, ordering, and purchases.

Deliveries take place during regular Cypress County Office hours from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
