Employee at Superstore tests positive for COVID 19

Medicine Hat, AB– An employee at the Real Canadian Superstore in Medicine Hat has tested positive for Covid 19.

CHATNEWSTODAY and CHAT TV have obtained a copy of an email dated November 13th, 2020. That is the date the store was notified an employee had tested positive for the virus. The individual worked their last shift on November 6th.

Through contact tracing it was determined this person got the virus outside the store. Based on discussions with health officials it was determined that this employee did not meet the criteria for close or prolonged contact with fellow colleagues. As a result, there is no need for anyone working at the store to isolate.

The store had made arrangements for cleaning of all high touch areas and reminded employees to continuing following all sanitization protocols.

The email states that according to feedback from public health the more frequent cleaning and sanitization practices, combined with the social distancing measures are helping to keep staff and customers safe.
