MEDICINE HAT, AB- With cases of COVID-19 rising, Hatters are taking note, with some CHAT News spoke to becoming more diligent with the hopes of reducing the case numbers.

“It is getting nasty, so we are being cautious. She wants me to be cautious so I do,” said one man CHAT NEWS spoke to.

” Just hand sanitizing more, and I think everybody just kind of got tired of doing it and the cases went down and you know going in and out of the grocery stores your not hand sanitizing when you get back in and so we are really stepping it up on that kind of thing,” one woman said.

For Jennifer Radisic who has an autoimmune disease, the rise in case numbers is concerning.

“It scares the crap out of me, absolutely.

“I carry lots of masks and sanitizer and our daughter, she is three, we don’t bring her out, and my son who is in Medicine Hat Highschool, he was actually in the class where one of the students got COVID-19, so I had to be away from him for three weeks. It was very, very stressful.” said Radisic who noted she and her son are considering online schooling.

Active case numbers in Medicine Hat increased by six, pushing the city under an enhanced status.
