Two women charged after vehicle taken from shop

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Two women are facing stolen property charges after a company vehicle was taken from a shop in the city’s light industrial area.

The vehicle was recovered fewer than eight hours after being stolen at about 6 p.m. on Nov. 8.

Police initiated a high-risk stop shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 9 when officers saw the vehicle being driven in the 900 block of South Railway Street. The two females were taken into custody without incident.

The 38-year-old driver faces charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of fentanyl.

The 28-year-old passenger is facing charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of methamphetamine and possession of identity documents, and is facing bail violations.
