MEDICINE HAT, AB- As the city continued to dig out from a weekend snowstorm, it was a showing of the community as Hatters worked to help other Hatters shovel from the
snowy aftermath.

In about every neighborhood in the city, neighbors could be seen helping neighbors with their driveways, and walkways.

This morning, many also came to the aide of drivers who were stuck so they could make it to work.

Near the hospital was Roxane Loronz and husband Shane Matuska. Armed with their shovels they worked to help push stuck cars and clear the road.

” It puts a smile on their face that they can get to where they are going and they can turn around and help someone. So pay it forward,” Loronz said.

Those who received help from a Snow Angel expressed immense gratitude. CHAT NEWS asked viewers if they received assistance from someone in the community and the response was overwhelming.

“Thank you to the couple who stopped in the blizzard to dig my car out when I lost control around a corner and hit the deep snow! My tire was blown and we couldn’t get me out but it helped incredibly when I was trying to get my tire changed! Your kindness was immensely appreciated!” Leah Innes said on Facebook.

“I’m a senior with a bad back and was struggling to remove a lot of heavy snow off my car this morning when a young man stopped his truck and completely cleared off all the snow for me. I regret that I didn’t get his name but it’s nice to know that there are still really nice people out there who will go out of their way to help a stranger.” said Anita Ross on Facebook

” My son and I got stuck going up the hill to Crescent Heights and a group of people walked back down and got our van turned around and sent us back down the hill. Thank you,” Claire Peterson said.

“One of my neighbors offered to help get my vehicle out and while I was waiting another one pulled his truck up and pulled me out.. my faith in humanity is restored! grateful beyond words,” said Jaime Fauth
