COVID-19 update coming from city on Monday

Nov 6, 2020 | 2:31 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat has scheduled a COVID-19 update for Monday, Nov. 9.

Merrick Brown, the city’s director of emergency management, will provide an update on municipal impacts and response to COVID-19.

In a release, the city says it is committed to supporting our community with information regarding our pandemic response as matters around COVID-19 continue to change.

A question period with media will follow the update. Media are invited onsite, though physical distancing measures will be in place.

CHAT News will livestream the update on Facebook.

Medicine Hat hasn’t been immune to the rising number of cases throughout the province in the past two weeks. Though cases are increasing much quicker in other municipalities, the total number of cases has risen from 89 to 104 since Oct. 23, while active cases are up from five to 15.

In the spring the city provided weekly COVID-19 updates, but they became less frequent during the summer. The last update was provided in August.
