K9 unit helps nab man at church break and enter

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A Medicine Hat church was the victim of a break and enter overnight and one man is currently in custody.

According to police, officers responded to an alarm at a church on Palliser Place NE at about 3:20 a.m. on Wednesday. A search of the church by the officer and the K9 unit located one male, who was taken into custody.

The male sustained minor injuries during the K9 apprehension, say police.

The 41-year-old suspect is in custody awaiting a bail hearing on a charge of break and enter and a charge of mischief from another incident on Oct. 27.
