Drugs seized after pair of vehicle stops near Kindersley

KINDERSLEY, SK – Two vehicle stops on Highway 7 in Saskatchewan this week resulted in RCMP seizing more than 100 pounds of cannabis and nearly 850 grams of cocaine.

On Oct. 20 around 2:30 p.m. a pickup truck was stopped west of Kindersley for a driver’s license and vehicle registration check. Observations made by the RCMP officer resulted in the lone male being detained for a drug investigation.

The vehicle was searched and five large garbage containing about 99 pounds of cannabis were found.

Clinton James Senko, 34, of Saskatoon is charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution. He appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was released on several conditions. Senko’s next scheduled court appearance is Dec. 15 in Kindersley Provincial Court.

On Oct. 21 a vehicle was stopped for speeding at about 3:30 p.m., also west of Kindersley.

Observations made by the officer led to a police service dog being deployed at the vehicle. A search of the vehicle found 850 grams of cocaine and seven pounds of cannabis.

Matthew Lewis Davey, 33, of Strathmore, Alta. is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution. He appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was released on conditions. Davey is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 15 in Kindersley.

The vehicles in both incidents were seized by RCMP.
