Wooden structure and slide to be removed from Calder Park

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat will be removing playground equipment in Calder Park.

Inspection during the summer uncovered safety concerns and access to the equipment was restricted at the time so that more assessments could be done.

In a release, the city says that upon further review the playground’s wooden structure and slide will be removed. The swings were found to be in good working condition and will remain in the park

The removal work should be completed before Oct. 30, depending on the weather.

Any possible replacement of the equipment will be done at a later date and in accordance with the city’s Playground Management Plan.
