Mental health market provides support, resources for community
REDCLIFF, AB- Inside the Redcliff Legion Saturday, tables were arranged with merchandise of all sorts filling the tables as people mazed their way around browsing what was available. What looked like an ordinary Saturday market, actually held a more prudent purpose as the community continues to grapple with mental health and the loss of several young men in the community to suicide.
“The Hatters Helping Hatters in support of Mental Health is aimed to provide resources and avenues of support for Hatters that might otherwise know where to get them,” said Emily Wallin, organizer of the Hatters helping Hatters Market
“ A way that we thought we could get them is by providing a market for local business people to come together and for the community to support eachother in a way that I feel like everyone kind of needs right now,” she said.
The Canadian Mental Health Association was on hand to provide resources and a grief specialist counsellor was also available to talk to market visitors.
