MEDICINE HAT — Officials with the United Way of South Eastern Alberta have had to find creative ways to continue their annual fall fundraising efforts, as COVID 19 impact that organization as well.

They were able to conduct their annual golf tournament last month, although with not as many people as in past years.

Executive director Missy Fandrick says many of their other activities have been moved on-line this year due to the pandemic.

Fandrick says the annual payroll contribution plan is on-line this year, with employers receiving all forms and information digitally. It’s also on the web site.

The annual gift wrap booth at the Medicine Hat Mall will also start on December 1st.

The United Way of South Eastern Alberta is also taking applications charities for the second round of the Emergency Community Support program.

One hundred thousand dollars is available for this second round of funding from the federal government to help registered charities impacted by COVID 19.
