AHS moving swabbing centre to highway between Medicine Hat and Redcliff

Anyone driving the highway between Medicine Hat and Redcliff on Thursday may have noticed an Alberta Health Services Assessment Centre Swabbing Area being set up across the Trans-Canada from the Hampton Inn.

A statement from AHS Communications says the site is being set up to replace the current site at the Dunmore Road Public Health Unit as the weather turns colder.

“The testing efforts would not be possible without the dedicated work of AHS staff, and the new location will give them shelter from the elements as they continue their critical work in the upcoming winter months,” part of the statement reads.

The site will allow for two lanes of traffic to move through the facility for testing and the new swabbing centre will be available Oct. 5.
