Water and sewer project at Spencer/Kipling moving along

Oct 1, 2020 | 3:26 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The work to rehabilitate the water and sewer systems around Kipling Street and Spencer Street is moving to another stage and that means more traffic disruptions in the area.

On Oct. 5, crews will complete the top lift pavement work on the first three phases of the project.

Traffic will be down to one lane on southbound Kingsway Avenue leading up the Dunmore Road hill until Oct. 9. As well, the right lane of Allowance Avenue/Spencer Street SE will be closed to vehicles turning south onto Dunmore Road.

Starting Oct. 13, access to Kipling Street will be restricted at College Avenue. Businesses and residences on Spencer Street and Kipling Street will remain accessible from Kingsway Avenue. A temporary bypass road will provide public access to Canada Post and Medicine Hat Recovery Centre. This closure will last until the conclusion of the project later this fall.
