Petition launched to save ATB Financial Agency in Redcliff

Don Krell, a long-time user ATB Financial Agency, spearheaded the petition and said the bank is crucial for locals especially seniors.

“Redcliff people are Redcliff people. They like Medicine Hat but a lot of seniors they do all their shopping here. They do their banking here. I don’t believe they would be very eager to have to go to medicine hat to do their banking, they love this little community. It would be a shame to see it go,” Krell said.

In a statement to CHAT NEWS, ATB Financial said bank closures are done after weighing all the feasible options and work is being done to ensure that Redcliff customers can transition to Medicine Hat branch locations.

“At ATB, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. A closure is only done after extensive analysis and after ensuring we can continue to support our customers, both virtually and at other ATB locations nearby. We’re committed to making banking work for our customers and our team in Medicine Hat is reaching out to affected customers to ensure the transition is as easy as possible for them. Customers can also bank anytime, anywhere through our mobile app or online banking. Customers can also use our ABMs to withdraw cash, pay bills and transfer money easily.” ATB Financial said.

Since launching the petition over the weekend, Approximately 40 people have signed.
