Royal LePage Community Realty starts 12 Months of Giving campaign

Sep 17, 2020 | 11:00 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Juggling a variety of clients at all times, real estate agents might have a better handle on how hard the community as a whole has been hit this year than people in other sectors.

The agents at Royal LePage Community Realty have decided they want to give back and show strength in numbers.

The brokerage will take funds usually spent on advertising and instead re-direct them to the community through a 12 Months of Giving campaign.

“We felt like our city has been hit hard in so many different ways and as a business and industry that’s supported by community for us to achieve success, we really felt like we wanted to give back,” said broker/owner Brooklyn Kalista.

Twelve local non-profit groups will each receive $1,000 per month for the next 12 months. The groups will start receiving the funds this Friday, Sept. 18, and will get more on the third Friday of each month.

“We always try to be community builders and are so thankful for all of our community and those who support us in it. we feel grateful that we give back,” said Kalista.

The money is being repurposed from Royal LePage’s Institutional Advertising fund.

Based on suggestions from Royal LePage agents, these 12 groups were chosen to receive money:

  • Medicine Hat Family Services
  • Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society
  • Medicine Hat Santa Claus Fund
  • Medicine Hat Food Bank Brown Bag Lunch Program
  • Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat
