Early morning race will hit drivers in the wallet

Trans Canada Highway race cut short by police

MEDICINE HAT — Racing on the Trans Canada Highway inside city limits, is going to cost two male drivers.

Police patrols saw the pair racing in the eastbound lanes of the Trans Canada coming into the city from Redcliff around 1:30 this morning.

One of the vehicles was clocked at 146 kilometers an hour.

The speed limit on that portion of the Trans Canada highway is 100 k.p.h.

Both vehicles were stopped and the drivers will be charged.
