MEDICINE HAT, AB – Alberta Health Services is extending availability for addictions and mental health support over the weekend.

In a release, Alberta Health Services (AHS) says it recognizes that many Albertans are worried about their health, finances and mental health. This is not an easy time and we are here to help.

The clinic in the Medicine Hat Provincial Building will be open for drop-in services from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Enter the building through the Second Street doors across from Legion Manor.

A counsellor can also be reached by phone at 403-529-3500 during those hours.

AHS encourages anyone who needs support to also reach out to someone they trust for an honest conversation about their concerns, such as a family member or friend.

Visit ahs.ca/helpintoughtimes to find reliable information on steps you can take to support yourself and others.

If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, reach out for help. Call Health Link at 811 or the Mental Health Help Line at 1-877-303-2642, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are in crisis, please connect with your healthcare professional or call 911 if it’s an emergency.
