MEDICINE HAT, AB – The first day of September means the days to enjoy the Echo Dale swim lake is winding down.
The last day to swim is this Monday long weekend (Sept. 7).
But, the park will still be open as it is year-round.
Parks Manager Scott Richter says with the late opening in July, and changes this year, the season went really well.
There was no concession, but adding food trucks was popular.
Richter says they will look at potentially having food services like that again next year.
“Talking to the staff out there, it was a pretty normal year all things considered. We had our busy times in July and August with some great weather and that usually dictates the number of people that travel out there and spend the day.”
Meantime, the city’s outdoor pools are now closed for the season.
You can register to swim, swimming lessons, and other programs through the Family Leisure Centre.
“Our system is working well and they’ve layered on a few additional times because we knew that swimming lessons weren’t as available in the summer, so there are lots of options for families this fall,” Richter said.
